FDLE seeking suspects in statewide thefts from motorsports stores

Press release from FDLE

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement arrested James Sears Jr., 23, 4451 Piedmont St., Orlando on charges of grand theft and burglary as part of a motorcycle theft ring operating out of Orlando.  Suspects Joshua Lester, 20, and Cavail Young, 19, both of Orlando, remain at large today.

Agents believe the thieves stole more than $100,000 worth of motorcycles from motorsports retailers statewide, although they are currently being charged for thefts in Marion and Okeechobee counties. Agents also believe there could be other individuals operating as part of this theft ring.

Agents are asking for the public’s help.  If you have any information about motorcycle thefts from motorsports stores in Florida or the whereabouts of Lester or Young, please contact FDLE Orlando at (407) 245-0888.

Sears was arrested Friday in Orlando and booked into the Orange County Jail on a $7,000 bond.

Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution will prosecute this case.
