FDOT announces CSX-related ramp closures and detours at SR 20 and U.S. 301, beginning Aug. 10

HAWTHORNE, Fla. – Ramp closures resulting in continuous detours are set to begin due to CSX railroad crossing work at the intersection of State Road 20 and U.S. 301 in Hawthorne, Florida.
Westbound
A westbound State Road 20 on-ramp closure is scheduled from Monday, Aug. 10, at 5 a.m. to Saturday, Aug. 15, at 8 p.m., weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
Westbound State Road 20 On-Ramp Detour Route:
U.S. 301 drivers seeking to go west on State Road 20 will turn east on State Road 20, turn north on State Road 21, then turn west on State Road 26 to continue to their westbound destinations.
Eastbound
A subsequent eastbound State Road 20 off-ramp closure is scheduled from Monday, Aug. 17, at 5 a.m. to Saturday, Aug. 22, at 8 p.m., weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
Eastbound State Road 20 Off-Ramp Detour Route:
Eastbound State Road 20 drivers seeking to access U.S. 301 will continue east on State Road 20, turn north on State Road 21, then turn west on State Road 26 to access U.S. 301.
All drivers, especially large commercial vehicle drivers, are encouraged to closely follow posted detour signs, as local roads cannot accommodate large vehicle traffic. All drivers are encouraged to use extra caution in the area and plan ahead for potential delays.
