FDOT scheduled to begin rumble strip project on U.S. 301 in Alachua County on June 9

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Work is scheduled to begin on Sunday, June 9, on a project to install rumble strips in Alachua County on U.S. 301 from south of SE 221st Street to south of SE 75th Avenue and from north of NE 168th Terrace to just south of NE 146th Street. Project improvements include rumble stripping, pavement markings, and other incidental construction.
TRP Construction Group, LLC. was awarded the $2.9 million rumble strip project. The multi-county project includes rumble strip installation in Alachua County, Bradford County, Gilchrist County, and Levy County. The project is expected to be completed in summer 2025, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
Work on U.S. 301 is expected nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with minimal traffic impacts. Lane closures are necessary to facilitate the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and construction personnel during improvements.
