FDOT to begin resurfacing project on SW 13th Street next week

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – FDOT will begin a resurfacing project along nearly 2 miles of SW 13th Street from Williston Road to Archer Road starting Tuesday, Sep. 26, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting. The resurfacing project will include the removal and replacement of the upper layers of asphalt; upgrading traffic signals; upgrading pedestrian signals; new roadway signage; new pavement markings; and sidewalk, curb, and driveway improvements at various locations. Additionally, the northbound and southbound left-turn lanes at SW 21st Avenue will be lengthened as part of the project.

Traffic will be maintained in accordance with FDOT standards. Drivers can expect lane closures and flagging operations between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. seven days a week. 

FDOT awarded Anderson Columbia Construction Inc. the contract to complete this $5.9 million project by fall 2024, weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.
