FDOT to hold Public Hearing tonight on changes to W. Newberry Rd

A public hearing regarding proposed median modifications to the intersection of West Newberry Road (State Road 26), and Southwest 140th Terrace will be held tonight at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, 16921 W Newberry Rd, Newberry, FL 32669. Attendees will have the opportunity to view displays and discuss the proposed changes with project staff and consultants during an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. A formal public comment period will begin at 6 p.m.

FDOT proposes the following modifications:

  • Directionalize the median at 140th Terrace
  • Extend the eastbound left turn lane at 138th Terrace to accommodate U-turns
  • Extend the westbound left turn lane at 143rd Street to accommodate U-turns

Attendees who complete a speaker’s card will be given the opportunity to make an oral statement that will become part of the public hearing record. Persons wishing to submit written statements or other exhibits in place of or in addition to oral statements may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Cody Ko P.E., Project Manager, via email at Cody.Ko@dot.state.fl.us or traditional mail at 2198 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32204-2730. All exhibits or statements postmarked on or before February 14, 2020 will become part of the public hearing record.
