Firefighters extinguish fire in Lochloosa Fish Camp cabin

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – This morning, firefighters extinguished a fire that started in the kitchen of a cabin at Lochloosa Fish Camp.

At about 8 a.m. on February 3, crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue, Melrose Fire Department, and Cross Creek Fire Department responded to a report of a commercial building fire at Lochloosa Fish Camp. The first arriving unit found a kitchen fire in one of the duplex cabin rentals. The fire had spread up the wall and into the attic space. Crews acted quickly, stopping and extinguishing the fire and saving the structure. 

Alachua County Fire Rescue would like to remind you that there is a burn ban currently in effect.
