Firefighters rescue kitten from storm drain

Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) received a call for a citizen assist on Thursday, September 23, regarding a kitten stuck in a storm drain. Squad 23 was dispatched and found a small kitten stuck in a storm drain, below grade.

The crew was able to rescue the kitten, which was taken to Newberry Animal Hospital for evaluation and subsequently adopted by one of the crew members’ family. The kitten is doing well in its new home. ACFR would like to remind everyone that we are here to assist in any and all of life’s emergencies.
