Frazer School Quiz Bowl Team wins competition, student named High School Player of the Week

GAINESVILLE, Fla, – This past weekend, the Frazer School Quiz Bowl Team scored first place at the Cottondale Hornet Fall Invitational in Cottondale, FL. 

Twenty Quiz Bowl teams from Alabama, Georgia, and the Florida panhandle competed. The Frazer School won 10-0, defeating Blountstown in the Championship game. 

The members of the winning team were Jessica Wu, Eric Gao, Westin Martin, and Jonathan Lin. 

Based on his quiz bowl performance, Westin Martin was named High School Player of the Week by National Academic Quiz Tournaments (NAQT), the organization that runs most Quiz Bowl competitions across the United States. 

Thirteen high school tournaments were held across the country last weekend, including two in Florida, and Westin was selected among all players as Player of the Week. He correctly answered 94 of 198 Tossup questions and scored 101 points per game.
