Frazer School Science Bowl team beats defending national champions in prestigious tournament

Press release from The Frazer School
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – This past Saturday, the Frazer School science bowl team went undefeated in the prestigious Armador Valley national tournament and defeated the reigning national champions.
The teams at Armador Valley, an invitation-only tournament, consisted of the top science bowl teams in the nation, based on last year’s tournament records. This year, all four of the semifinalists from last year’s national championship competed, as well as eight of the top 10 from last year’s national tournament. The Frazer School team went undefeated through the tournament and beat defending national champions Montgomery/Blair by a score of 88-16 in the finals.
Head science coach Marc Moody said, “We were a little disappointed to not advance past the top 12 at last year’s national championship and felt we had something to prove this year. We were really looking forward to this tournament and getting a chance to see how we compare this year to the best teams in the country. To beat the defending national champions in the finals has our whole team excited about our chances this year.”
