Frazer School student named top 40 finalist in the Regeneron Science Talent Search

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Frazer School student Sophia Rong has been named a top 40 finalist in the 84th Regeneron Science Talent Search—the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and mathematics competition for high school seniors. As a finalist, Rong will participate in the Finals Week competition, March 6-12, 2025. Finalists are each awarded at least $25,000, and the top 10 winners will receive awards ranging from $40,000 to $250,000.
Rong joins the ranks of 13 Nobel Prize winners, 22 MacArthur Foundation Fellows, and many other distinguished alumni of the Science Talent Search. This honor identifies Rong among the nation’s most promising young scientists or mathematicians.
Rong is one of only three Florida students to advance to the finals, and she was also admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology during the early admission process.
