Frazer School students win Congressional App Challenge for 3rd Congressional District

Press release from The Frazer School

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL-03) has named Aadya Guduru and Xuyao “Chloe” Zhang of The Frazer School as the winners of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge in Florida’s Third Congressional District. Their app “Pocket Fridge” helps Americans use the ingredients in their refrigerators to make healthy meals.

“Congratulations to Frazer School students Aadya and Xuyao on being selected as this year’s Congressional App Challenge winners from Florida’s Third Congressional District,” said Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL-03). “These young women worked hard to design and produce their app ‘Pocket Fridge,’ which is designed to help Americans take advantage of ingredients in their refrigerators to produce healthy, fulfilling meals. Their app was designed with the user experience in mind and is an impressive feat for young learners of their caliber. We look forward to welcoming Aadya, Xuyao, and their families to Washington next year to celebrate this tremendous honor.”

According to Laura Miner, project coordinator, the Congressional App Challenge was founded by the House of Representatives in 2013 to inspire young students to pursue careers in computer science and to increase awareness of STEM education. All submissions were judged by community STEM leaders to determine the winners.

Principal Fayiga said, “We are so blessed to have these incredibly talented, hardworking young ladies at the Frazer School. We know they will accomplish great things in the future.”
