Frazer School to host Speech & Debate Showcase ahead of National Championships
Press release from the Frazer School
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Frazer School is proud to announce its upcoming Speech & Debate Showcase, taking place on Thursday, May 22, at 5:00 p.m. in the Frazer Auditorium (1520 NW 34th St). This special event highlights the talent, passion, and dedication of Frazer’s nationally recognized speech and debate students, several of whom are preparing to represent the school at two prestigious national tournaments this summer.
Students have qualified for the National Catholic Forensic League Grand Nationals in Chicago and the National Speech and Debate Association National Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa, where they will compete against top teams from across the country.
The May 22nd showcase is open to the public and will feature a powerful selection of speeches, debates, and dramatic performances. A $5 suggested donation is encouraged for admission, and raffles and concessions will be available. All proceeds directly support the team’s travel and competition expenses.
“Our students have worked incredibly hard all year long,” said Randy Dexter, coach of The Frazer School Speech and Debate team. “This showcase is not just a celebration — it’s a chance for the community to see what these amazing young people are capable of. Their voices are strong, their arguments are sharp, and their commitment to excellence is unmatched.”
The event also serves as an opportunity to inspire the next generation. Families with 4th- and 5th-grade students are especially encouraged to attend and learn about the academic and leadership pathways available through The Frazer School’s secondary programs.
Faculty, families, and community members alike are invited to attend and support these accomplished students as they prepare to take the national stage.
