Frazer School wins second straight Mu Alpha Theta National Championship

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Frazer School Math Team won its second consecutive Mu Alpha Theta national math championship last week, beating longtime rival American Heritage Broward by 194 points (7,034 to 6,840).

This year’s national championship was held in Frisco, Texas, and the Frazer team earned a total of 207 trophies/medals over the course of the competition, including the first-place results listed below. In 2025, the Frazer team won a national championship in their inaugural year in Orlando, and next year’s championship will be held in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Coach Will Frazer said, “I am very proud of our kids. They worked very hard this summer to get themselves in shape for our national competition. I am also excited about our teams’ prospects for next year and beyond. We were led by our Alpha team and the younger members of our Calculus team. Though we graduate some incredible seniors who have contributed so much over the past 4 years, we are also bringing in a very talented bunch of 9^th-graders who I believe will accomplish a lot over the next 4 years. The future looks bright.”

Principal Fayiga said, “These kids are amazing. I watched them, for the whole month of June, run a 4-hour camp every morning for young kids, then take a 30-minute lunch break and then attend their own 4-hour camp to prepare for our national championship. What is most impressive is that they do this out of love for helping their community and their team. If not for the opportunity to spend time with these impressive young people, I would have retired years ago.”
