Fred Cone Park track and infield work has begun

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department and the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs are pleased to announce that improvements at Fred Cone Park (2801 E. University Ave.) have begun. The project includes resurfacing the track and repairing and reseeding the infield. 

American Athletic Track & Turf will begin resurfacing and restriping the track this week, followed by Urban Greenscapes, which will handle the repair and reseeding of the infield. The track and infield will be closed to the public until the newly seeded grass germinates. 

The cost of the project is approximately $319,494.19.
