Friends of the Library book sale begins today

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale began this morning at 430 North Main Street, with five days of pure bliss for book lovers! 

Doors will remain open on Saturday until 6 p.m. From Sunday through Wednesday (April 27-30), doors are open noon-6 p.m.  Profits from this sale are used to support Alachua County Library District (with its 12 branches) projects and other programs promoting literacy throughout Alachua County.

Many thousands of gently used and locally donated books of all genres, games, puzzles, works of art, CDs, movies, vinyl records, Manga, comics, magazines, and much more are offered at BARGAIN prices.  Most items are priced between 25 cents and $5. On Tuesday, all items are reduced to HALF PRICE.  On Wednesday, all items are further reduced to only 10 CENTS!   

With over 60 categories, there will be something to delight every member of your family–from children’s books to large print books. Everything has been carefully sorted , prepared, and organized for your enjoyment by the volunteers of Friends of the Library. Maps are provided to help you find your particular interest, which might include biology, crafts, cookbooks, do-it-yourself, novels, sci-fi, self-help, drama, classics, every kind of history imaginable, MANY different foreign languages, and music, just to name a few! Surely you will be able to find the answers to your questions on medicine, archeology, religions, and pet care!

For true bibliophiles, the Collector’s Corner (open Saturday-Tuesday only) offers a large selection of rare, first edition, and signed volumes.
