GACAR to host ribbon cutting ceremony for new parklet

Press release from Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors®

Gainesville, Fla. – The Gainesville-Alachua County Association of Realtors® (GACAR) will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for a new parklet just south of Depot Park this Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.

The parklet was created with the help of a $5,000 Placemaking Grant from the National Association of Realtors® (NAR), impressive volunteer work from GACAR’s Member Community Outreach (MCO) committee, and in coordination with the City of Gainesville. It will provide an additional place to rest and picnic for Gainesville trail walkers, bicyclists, and nature lovers alike.

The GACAR Young Professional Network (YPN) Committee will be hosting their monthly Happy Hour nearby at First Magnitude from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in honor of the occasion, with everyone encouraged to walk over to the new parklet for the ribbon cutting ceremony at 6:30 p.m. (tentatively). In case of inclement weather, attendees are encouraged to celebrate the parklet opening at First Magnitude with GACAR.
