Gainesville man killed in single-car accident on SW 13th Street

According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 74-year-old Gainesville man was killed in a single-car accident this morning on SW 13th Street.

The accident happened around 11:30 a.m, when a sedan ran off the west shoulder and into the median of US 441 and collided with a tree. The man, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
