Gainesville Modern Quilters Hosts a Reception for its Modern Quilt Show at Hotel Indigo, Celebration Pointe

Gainesville Modern Quilters will host a reception for its show of modern quilts, taking place at Hotel Indigo, Celebration Pointe on Friday, December 3, 6:00-9:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Gainesville Modern Quilters is the local chapter of the international Modern Quilt Guild, and the show will feature quilts made by members of the guild. Attendees will have the option to purchase some of the quilts on display.

The more than 20 quilts will be on display from December 3 through January 30, 2022. The December 3 reception will include wine and cheese and an opportunity to meet the quilters.

Founded in 2009, Gainesville Modern Quilters is a guild dedicated to supporting and exploring the modern quilt movement. As a local chapter of the international Modern Quilt Guild, the group meets monthly to learn new skills, plan projects and events, and share their work. President of the guild, Brigit Dermott, is an award-winning quilter whose work has been featured in national magazines including Modern Patchwork and Quiltfolk.
