Gainesville woman sentenced to 2 months in jail after pleading to sexual cyberharassment
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Terra Maeshawn Tillman, 27, has been sentenced to two months in jail after entering a plea of nolo contendere to sexual cyberstalking.
Tillman was arrested in July 2025 after the victim told a Gainesville Police Department officer that she began receiving messages from friends and family to let her know that Tillman had posted a sexually explicit photo of the victim as her own profile picture on Facebook.
The victim said the photo was taken by a man who sexually battered her a few years ago and sent the picture to friends and family, including Tillman; she said Tillman did not have permission to use or post the photo, and seeing it posted on Facebook was traumatizing for her. The officer noted that the sexual battery incident was previously “resolved through the legal system.”
The officer reportedly called Tillman, who said the victim had posted a picture of a gorilla that was edited to add Tillman’s face, and she posted the photo of the victim because she was angry. She said she later realized that what she did was “stupid” and deleted the photo.
Tillman had no criminal history at the time of her arrest, and she was released on her own recognizance. On January 23, she entered an open plea of nolo contendere to the charge, and Judge Jonathan Ramsey sentenced her to two months in jail, with credit for two days served. She began serving her sentence on January 23.
