Gainesville’s Jordan Burchel takes on 24-Hour music challenge to benefit local arts community
Press release from Gainesville Fine Arts Association
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On September 13, local singer-songwriter and producer Jordan Burchel will embark on a new creative journey. For a full 24 hours, Burchel will be composing, recording, mixing, and mastering an album of original music inside the Gainesville Fine Arts Association (GFAA) gallery located at 1314 S Main Street, Gainesville.
Burchel’s 24-hour effort will be unveiled the following evening, September 14, at 6 p.m. at the gallery, and music enthusiasts and supporters are invited to experience the outcome of this unique project.
The Gainesville Fine Arts Association, a cornerstone of our community’s cultural landscape for over a century, is dedicated to supporting visual art and artists through its exhibitions, workshops, and programs. However, the arts organization faces a significant challenge this year with a $40,000 funding cut from the Florida state government. In response, GFAA is rallying support through this event to bridge the funding gap.
“This event is one piece of a larger plan – cutting costs where we can, and other donation opportunities and fundraisers. GFAA needs each piece of the plan to be successful, and this event is an opportunity for a large segment of the Gainesville community to come out and support their local artists,” said GFAA Executive Director Katy Lemle.
There are several ways to support GFAA and participate in this unique event:
- $20 – 24hr Album Listening Party ticket
- $75 – Commemorative t-shirt and merchandise pack
- $125 – Shout-out during the opening address, live stream mention, and name included on GFAA’s donor wall & website
- $300 – 1 year GFAA patron membership and one included GFAA workshop
- $500 – Booster: Shout-out in a song on the 24hr album and name in the official release liner notes
- $1000 – Sponsor: Promo material in the 24hr stream and marketing collateral, plus a shout-out in all future 24-hour albums (3)
- $5000 – Premier Sponsor: Logo permanently displayed on the 24hr stream and studio area during the event
