GARS to hold amateur radio demonstrations during Alachua County Veterans Day Celebration

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gainesville Amateur Radio Society (GARS) will be taking part in the November 11, 2024 event at Veterans Memorial Park (7400 SW 41st Place), honoring all who have served our country.

Along with providing ground support for the helicopter and parachutist landings, members have great activities for the public. From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., everyone is welcome to stop by the GARS tent to see and try amateur radio; kids can try Morse code, and all can also see a demo of GMRS Radio (effective for local contact during emergencies).
