Gas tax holiday reduces state gas tax by 25.3 cents per gallon for month of October

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A gas sales tax holiday passed by the legislature went into effect on October 1, reducing the gas sales tax by 25.3 cents per gallon during the month of October.

The gas tax holiday applies only to motor fuel and does not apply to diesel fuel, propane, or other types of fuel. The holiday is one of a number of tax relief measures passed by the legislature, including year-long sales tax holidays on baby clothes and shoes and Energy Star appliances and a two-year sales tax holiday on impact-resistant windows, doors, and garage doors.

  • Yep, you liberals, go ahead and write your anti DeSantis articles in the Gainesville Sun fish wrapper.

  • Thank you Governor DeSantis!! Actually helping struggling workers keep some money in their pocket to prepare for another inflation impacted Christmas.

Voters: What has your current AC BOCC and GNV CC done to help you save some money this year? Zilch!
