Georgia man killed in I-75 crash near High Springs

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – A 48-year-old man from Atlanta, GA, was killed last night on I-75 after his car hit a guardrail and then swerved into the path of a pickup truck.
According to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol, at about 10:07 p.m. on July 9, the Atlanta man was driving a sedan northbound on I-75 near mile marker 405 when the sedan traveled into the median and hit a guardrail before traveling back into the northbound lanes, where a northbound pickup hit the sedan.
The Georgia man was killed in the crash; the occupants of the sedan, a 62-year-old man and 50-year-old woman from Mount Vernon, IN, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was wearing a seatbelt, but the two men were not.
The northbound lanes were closed for several hours while the investigation was conducted.
