GPD accredited by Commission for Accreditation on Law Enforcement (CALEA)

On November 12, 2020, the Gainesville Police Department (GPD) participated in the 2020 Fall Virtual Commission for Accreditation on Law Enforcement (CALEA) Review.

GPD is proud to report that the CALEA Commission voted unanimously for our Department to be awarded accreditation. This was a four-year process in which GPD provided documentation on proof of compliance and revised policies and practices and also showcased the Department.

This award by CALEA represents GPD’s continued commitment to law enforcement excellence.
