GPD asks public for help locating missing man

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating 60-year-old Shawn Way.

On October 3, Way was discharged from UF Health Shands Hospital. Way is from Old Town and has not made it home or contacted family. He has no phone or ID with him. Way has medical issues that require medication, and he may not have the medication with him.

Way is about 6’1” and weighs approximately 150 lbs. He was last known to be wearing “Hey Dude”-style shoes, dark shorts, and a white t-shirt. He was last seen at approximately 2 p.m. on October 4, in the 2000 block of SW 16th Avenue.
