FOUND: GPD is searching for missing person near Tom Petty Park

UPDATE: Mr. Ramalho has been located and is safe.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Police Department is searching for Mr. Ronald Ramalho, 74 years old (9/18/1950). He is believed to be wearing a gray t-shirt, black pants, and a black hat. He was seen leaving his apartment (1901 NE 2nd Street) at approximately 3:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon (Sunday). Mr. Ramalho requires a walker, and it was recovered yesterday around 4:50 p.m. at the Publix, 1302 N. Main Street. He has a history of confusion, vision, and hearing issues and is diabetic. He does not have any medications with him.

The search is currently concentrated around Tom Petty Park (400 NE 16th Avenue), and Florida Department of Corrections bloodhounds are assisting with the ground search.
