GPD: No gun violence over the weekend

After several consecutive weekends of multiple gun-related crimes, Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers did not respond to any weekend violence involving shootings, shots fired, or armed burglaries from September 11-13, 2020.

GPD continues to vigorously address this recent crime trend, partnering with local and federal law enforcement agencies and prosecutors in an effort to curb these violent incidents from occurring. GPD thanks our neighbors, who remain critical partners with us as well. If you see or hear something that concerns you, please contact 911 as soon as possible. GPD stands ready and able to respond to our neighbors’ calls for service and will continue to serve and protect our community.
