GPD seeking suspect in May 28 attempted homicide

As reported in a May 28, 2021, news release, Branden Keonnis Babcock (DOB: 09/20/1982) is wanted for attempted homicide for an incident that occurred on Friday, May 28, 2021. At approximately 11:31 a.m. on May 28, GPD officers responded to reports of an individual shot at The Grove at Sweetwater Branch (225 SE 19th Place).

After arriving to the scene, officers discovered that Babcock shot the victim multiple times after getting into an argument. The victim was treated at the hospital for those injuries and later released.

Babcock (6’2”, approx. 200 lbs.) fled the scene and has not yet been located. In addition to the Attempted Homicide warrant, Babcock has outstanding warrants for Violation of Parole (VOP) for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
