GPD seeking suspect in shooting

On August 5 at approximately 6:30 a.m., Gainesville Police Department (GPD) responded to a report of a person shot in the unit block of NE 42nd Place. Upon arrival, officers located a female who had a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Officers received conflicting reports on how the female received the wound. Further investigation by Detectives developed probably cause for the arrest of Andrew Carl James, Jr, B/M, DOB 2/6/85, for Domestic Aggravated Battery and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; GPD is currently applying for an arrest warrant.
