Grace Healthcare Services wins 2024 Small Nonprofit of the Year at Gainesville Chamber Business Awards

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Grace Healthcare Services was named 2024 Small Nonprofit of the Year at the Greater Gainesville Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Business Awards.
“This selfless group is what makes our community great,” said Dr. Brandon Allen, Department of Emergency Medicine, UF College of Medicine.
Impact
Grace Pharmacy opened its doors in October of 2017, and since that time it has dispensed over 40,000 free prescriptions. Grace Clinic became operational in September of 2019.
“I can see Dr R., and I can get my meds!” said Leon Scott, who suffered a stroke last year. Leon was employed at the time and remains eager to return to work. Expressing gratitude for Grace Clinic and Grace Pharmacy, Leon said, “It always pays to be a good person. I would always bring people to Grace Clinic, and now I need it.”
Services
Grace Healthcare Services Corp, a 501(c)3 Florida Tax Exempt Nonprofit, provides a free clinic and free pharmacy services to the underserved, those experiencing homelessness (sheltered and unsheltered), the working poor, and the uninsured. The Clinic and Pharmacy are located on the grounds of our area’s largest shelter, Grace Marketplace, 3055 NE 28th Drive, Gainesville.
The Best Western Gateway Grand Hotel ballroom was packed to capacity for the awards ceremony. Attending for Grace Healthcare Services was Co-Founder and President Harvey Rohlwing MD, Co-Founder and Treasurer Tim Rogers RPh, and Executive Director Lorry Davis.
