Ham Radio Summer Field Day to be held on June 28-29

Press release from Gainesville Amateur Radio Society

WALDO, Fla. – Join the Gainesville Amateur Radio Society (GARS) for a national event celebrating emergency communications. The event is Saturday, June 28 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and Sunday, June 29 (9 a.m. to 2 p.m.). We will be trying to make as many contacts around the country as possible, under emergency conditions.

The GARS club welcomes anyone who would like to learn about amateur radio, as well as let us “get you on the air,” talking to operators all over the country. You can learn about many affordable options for communicating and learn what amateur radio is all about. Children accompanied by adults are welcome, and we can let them talk on the air! Don’t miss this chance.

The activities will be held on the second floor of the Waldo City Square (14450 NE 148th Avenue, Waldo, Florida), 15 minutes north of Gainesville. For more information, see gars.club.
