High Springs man trauma-alerted to hospital after crash in Alachua

ALACHUA, Fla. – A 55-year-old High Springs man was trauma-alerted to a hospital this afternoon after his moped was hit by a van on U.S. Hwy 441 outside Tech City.

At about 2:58 p.m., the High Springs man was driving a scooter northbound on U.S. Hwy 441 near Tech City Circle when he was rear-ended by a Ford Transit van driven by a 49-year-old Gainesville man.

According to a release from the Alachua Police Department, the High Springs man was trauma-alerted to a local hospital but is expected to survive. The driver of the van was not injured.
