Hippodrome Cinema announces October lineup

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Hippodrome Cinema celebrates the fall season with a variety of screenings to excite Gainesville movie-goers of all ages! With a mix of new dramatic releases, special screenings of a Gainesville punk horror cult classic just in time for THE FEST, and a selection of Halloween films of all varieties, the Cinema offers something for everyone this October.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Sunday, October 12, 6:00 PM – Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island, 1998 Family/Animation

Friday, October 17, 9:30 PM – Little Shop of Horrors, 1986 Musical/Horror

Saturday, October 18, 8:30 PM – Cocktails and Classics: The Bride of Frankenstein, 1935 Horror. Each ticket includes a themed specialty cocktail to enjoy during the screening!

Thursday and Friday, October 23 and 24, 7:30 PM – Twisted Issues, 1988, Horror/Comedy. A celebration of local history with this “psycho-punk splatter-comedy” filmed in Gainesville. A meet and greet with the director Charles Pinion will happen at 6:30 PM prior to both screenings, with a Q&A following both showings of the film as well.
