Hit-and-run on Waldo Road leaves bicyclist seriously injured

On Thursday, January 30, at 8:30 p.m., Gainesville Police Department (GPD) officers responded to a report of a hit and run traffic crash at 300 NE Waldo Road.  Further investigation revealed that a bicyclist was riding north on NE Waldo Rd and was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. 

The bicyclist was found unconscious and transported to UF Health Shands with life-threatening injuries. GPD Traffic Homicide Investigators responded and are conducting the investigation.
