Homeless woman arrested for threatening to kill ex-boyfriend
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Desiré Nicole Griffin, 26, was arrested yesterday for allegedly making multiple threats to kill her ex-boyfriend.
The victim told a Gainesville Police Department officer that he and Griffin had gotten into an argument, and then she started slapping him and pulling out his hair. He said he sent her a text early in the morning on July 11, breaking up with her, and she responded with about 50 messages from four different phone numbers; the texts reportedly included threats to get a gun and kill him, set his house on fire, and stab him and his tires, along with a message that said, “Yall gone have to kill me tonight, we both gone die [tonight].” She also allegedly sent a video of herself with a knife, and in the video she said it was “brand new” and threatened to use it “tonight.”
The officer reported that sections of the victim’s hair had been pulled out.
The officer reported that he was unable to locate Griffin because she is “currently unsheltered,” but she was arrested on July 12.
Griffin, whose address is listed as GRACE Marketplace, has been charged with making a written threat to kill, aggravated stalking with a credible threat, and domestic battery. She has four felony convictions (one violent) and four misdemeanor convictions (two violent). Judge Donna Keim set bail at $75,000.
