Jacksonville woman killed in Waldo Road crash

At about 5:30 p.m. today, a 2010 black Hyundai sedan driven by a 44-year-old Jacksonville woman was traveling westbound on SR 24 (Waldo Rd), approaching the intersection of NE 63rd Ave. A 2004 silver Peterbilt tractor trailer driven by a 42-year-old Bradenton man was eastbound on SR 24. For unknown reasons, the driver of the Hyundai lost control of her vehicle and crossed the median into the eastbound lane, at which point the sedan was struck by the tractor trailer. The driver of the semi was not injured. The driver of the sedan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
