HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – The City of High Springs proudly announces the appointment of Jennifer Applebee as the new Parks and REC (Recreation Education & Culture) Director. Jennifer brings a wealth of experience and dedication to her new role, having served extensively in the recreational and performing arts sectors.

A native of Fort White, Jennifer joins High Springs from the City of Alachua, where she spent ten years working with Alachua’s Recreation and Culture department and soccer league. “I’m excited,” Jennifer expressed about her new journey. “Right now, I’m doing a lot of listening—listening to staff, residents, and players about their vision for the future of High Springs Parks & REC and how we can collectively realize that vision.”

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jennifer is a devoted mother of three daughters and an avid outdoorswoman. Her love for nature finds her out hiking, camping, fishing, and scalloping. She also nurtures her passion for theater by visiting various theaters to enjoy diverse performances.
