June 17 Planning Commission and June 18 Development Review Committee Virtual Meetings

The Alachua County Planning Commission will meet on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 6 p.m. The Alachua County Development Review Committee will meet on Thursday, June 18, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. These are virtual meetings. The public may attend virtually through the County’s Video on Demand website. For meeting audio only, call 301-715-8592, and when prompted, use code 670 965 3024.

The public may submit comments to the Planning Commission through email at planning@alachuacounty.us and to the Development Review Committee through email at developmentreview@alachuacounty.us. Comments can also be made by calling into the public comment message line when prompted to call during the meetings.

Public comment will be taken by telephone for all non-ministerial items on which the Planning Commission or the Development Review Committee votes. Once public comment is opened for an item under discussion, please call 929-205-6099 (enter meeting code 273 174 8038). Callers will be put in a queue, and prompted when it is their turn to speak. TO AVOID FEEDBACK, SPEAKERS MUST TURN DOWN THEIR MEETING SOUND WHEN ADDRESSING THE DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS.

Items for the Planning Commission meeting:

Ferguson Family Homestead Subdivision – This is a Preliminary and Final Development Plan for a proposed 3 lot family homestead with 1 residual lot on approximately 29.793 acres located on Tax Parcel Numbers 04536-001-000 and 06861-006-000 at 6839 S.W. 194th Street. Tara Estates – This is a Revised Final Development Plan and Plat to relocate the lift station on a previously approved 45 lot single family residential subdivision on approximately 14.80 acres located on Tax Parcel Numbers 04412-010-000 and 04412-011-000 south of S.W. 8th Avenue and east of S.W. 143rd Street in the block of S.W. 8th Avenue. India Cultural and Education Center Phase 1 – This is a Final Development Plan for the construction of an approximately 14,200 sq. ft. cultural and education center on approximately 22.70 acres located on Tax Parcel Number 07099-001-001 in the 8100 block of S.W. 75th Street. South Pointe PD, Lot 23 in Phase 5A – This is a Revised Final Development Plan, Minor Change to a PD and Replat for a replat to correct an encroachment on approximately 0.17 acre located on Tax Parcel Number 04321-051-023 at 387 N.W. 121st Way. Items for the Development Review Committee Meeting:

CPA-03-20 (Large Scale Comprehensive Plan Amendment) – This is a request for a large-scale Comprehensive Plan land use amendment by the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners, agent, for various property owners (see parcel numbers) to change the land use designation on these parcels from Preservation to Rural Agriculture (density of one dwelling unit per five acres). These properties are located at the northeast corner of the intersection of County Roads 325 and 346 and constitute approximately 200.48 acres on parcels 18258-000-000, 18258-001-000, 18261-001-000, 18261-002-000, 18261-002-003, 18261-002-004, 18262-000-000, 18261-002-001 and 18280-001-000. If approved, the land use change will remove the Preservation land use designation from these parcels and designate them as Rural/Agriculture, consistent with other privately-owned properties found in the rural area of Alachua County. Unified Land Development Code Update Public Workshop – The County’s consultant will present details of the proposed Unified Land Development Code Update and accept public input on any issues related to the update.
