LaCrosse home near total loss after fire

At approximately 4:50 p.m. this afternoon, Alachua County Fire Rescue and LaCrosse Fire Rescue responded to a single-family house fire off County Road 225 north of Gainesville. Upon arrival, units found a double-wide mobile home approximately 50% involved, and they were able to make a good stop on the fire. The home was an approximate 70% loss. Water tankers were also utilized because the fire was in a rural area of the county. The Florida State Fire Marshal and the Red Cross were notified. 

Alachua County Fire Rescue would like to remind everyone to make sure smoke detectors are installed and working. In addition, when there is a fire, get out and stay out.
