Local clinic improves lives for women with endometriosis

Press release from Clear Passage

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Clear Passage®, a pioneer in developing a unique “hands-on” physical therapy, has been helping women locally and worldwide to overcome pain and infertility due to endometriosis. The group is highlighting its revolutionary approach during March this year for Endometriosis Awareness Month. Remarkably, Clear Passage® therapists use just their hands to detach adhesions causing pelvic pain or infertility in patients suffering from endometriosis. No drugs or surgery are involved.

Over 1,000 babies have been born to women diagnosed infertile after receiving the unique therapy. Published studies show their non-surgical therapy significantly decreased menstrual and intercourse pain in hundreds of women. The therapy has opened totally blocked fallopian tubes in 62% of women, most of whom conceived – a feat previously thought impossible without surgery. The Journal of Endometriosis reported that 93% of women had improved sexual function (greater desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, and less pain) after receiving this bodywork. 43% of women diagnosed infertile with endometriosis conceived after the therapy in a group that included women with totally blocked fallopian tubes. “The results would likely be higher in women without tubal blockage,” researchers said.

Physical therapist Belinda Wurn and her husband, massage therapist Larry Wurn, first developed this life-changing therapy thirty years ago to decrease severe pain and improve life for Belinda, who developed extensive adhesions after surgery for uterine cancer. Adhesions are internal scars that frequently form in women with endometriosis. “Endometrial tissue and adhesions are often found together, acting like glue in the pelvis. They can cause significant pain, infertility, and even life-threatening bowel obstructions,” Belinda says.

Erin, a prior patient who had suffered years of pain, said, “Prior to Clear Passage®, I would lose four to five days of work a month due to endometriosis pain. The pain was so severe that I would actually pass out. After their therapy, my family and I were shocked that I was finally without pain, able to work and function normally!”

Having grown into clinics across the US and UK, this therapy is offered as an outpatient treatment that can be completed in just twenty hours over five days. “The therapy has been shown safe and effective in several medical journals; patients return to normal daily activities right after therapy,” Larry said.

Clear Passage® clears applicants before therapy who may set up a complimentary consultation with therapy directors after completing a medical history form. The owners have donated a full 20-hour therapy program to benefit the Dance Alive! Dance Company for its annual auction at their Dancing with the Stars event on March 30.
