Local club soccer team wins Florida State Cup

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A local club soccer team, the Men’s Under-19 Inter Gainesville KF Academy, coached by Darnell Bernier, won the Florida State Cup over Mother’s Day weekend.
The Florida State Cup consists of single-elimination games beginning in October, with the Final Four occurring over Mother’s Day weekend. Inter Gainesville KF began its road to victory in November 2024 with a 3-0 win against then-#3-nationally-ranked Strikers Miami FC 2007 Elite. After qualifying for the final four, the team secured a 3-0 victory over Florida #2-ranked Doral SC ECNL 07/06 in the semi-final on Saturday and capped off the weekend with a 3-1 triumph over Parkland SC to become the state champions of Florida.
The players on the Under-19 represent a collection of the best players 19-and-under in Gainesville and surrounding areas and include the following: Sean Allin (Santa Fe HS c/o 2024), Alex Chartier (West Port c/o 2026), Davy Coleman (PK Yonge c/o 2026), Dwaht Courtios, Ferlando David (Oak Ridge, Orlando c/o 2025), Hugo Deleyrolle (Buchholz c/o 2024), Maximus Deitz (Newberry c/o 2025), Kleivens Eliacin (Oak Ridge, Orlando c/o 2024), Dylan Fitzpatrick (Buchholz c/o 2026), Brodolsky Louissaint (Oak Ridge, Orlando c/o 2024), Teague McNeal (Buchholz c/o 2026), Braiden Muthard (Williston c/o 2026), Kyle Plante (Florida Virtual c/o 2025), Waylon Richard (Suwannee c/o 2024), Ignacio Moses de Oca Gordillo (Gainesville c/o 2026), Paulens Sanozier (Oak Ridge, Orlando c/o 2025), Aryan Saravanan (Stanton College Prep c/o 2024), John Schlicher (West Port c/o 2025), Nate Southard (Sante Fe c/o 2024), Luke Xue (Frazer School c/o 2025), Christopher Zeppieri (P.K. With this State Title, Coach Bernier secures his 5th career State Championship, becoming the only coach in Gainesville history to win both the FYSA State Cup and the US Florida Cup. Coach Darnell told his club family: “Congratulations to all the U19 boys on a tremendous victory and bringing a Florida State Championship back to our Inter GNV family and the city. Thanks to all the families and their support throughout the season and setting a quality standard on the field for future generations to come.”
The Men’s U-19 Florida State Cup victory is a culmination of numerous wins across the state, including championship victories at the 2024 Tampa Bay Super Cup (Champions), 2024 Raleigh Boys Showcase (Group winner), 2024 Disney Showcase (Finalist), and 2024 Weston Cup (Champions). The team also traveled to Dallas, Texas, in April to compete against elite teams from all over the world, including a team from Northern Ireland.
Securing the Florida State Cup enables the U19 team to compete in the National Championships in Denver, Colorado from July 17-21 and play against the state champions from across the country.
