Local Rotary Clubs provide grant to Project YouthBuild

Press release from Rotary Club of Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Rotary Clubs of Gainesville Foundation Inc., at its October 18, 2023 Board of Directors meeting, reviewed 30 community grant applications requesting funds from the 2024 Rotary Wild Game Feast. The Board is proud to announce that the recipient of the 2024 Rotary Wild Game Feast grant will be Project YouthBuild. The 2024 Rotary Wild Game Feast will be held March 7, 2024.

Project YouthBuild young people have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma, nationally recognized construction and healthcare credentials, and an education award to be used for post-secondary education or trade school. Young people participate in a rigorous leadership program helping prepare them for civic engagement and employment.

Rory Causseaux, FeastMaster 2024, said, “I’m just excited about being a part of Rotary and representing the Rotary Wild Game Feast. The Wild Game Feast places more than $100,000 each year into the community through our local non-profit organizations to do good in the community. This year’s recipient is Project YouthBuild. The Board had a tremendous task of selecting from 30 worthy grant applications. We felt Project YouthBuild stood out for its mission to help our youth.”

Jonathan Leslie from Project YouthBuild said, “We are extremely excited to be the recipient of the Rotary Wild Game Feast grant. These funds will allow us to construct a 1300 sf classroom/training space on our campus located at 635 NW 6th Street in Gainesville. Each year Project YouthBuild receives more enrollment applications from young people than current space can accommodate and we anticipate more demand for our services into the foreseeable future.”
