Local youth mountain bike team to start its fifth season

Press release from Gainesville Composite Mountain Bike Team

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Gainesville Composite Mountain Bike Team (GNV MTB) is a non-profit youth development team on a mission to build strong minds, bodies, and character through an inclusive scholastic-based cycling program.

GNV MTB participates in the Florida Interscholastic Cycling League (FICL), a project league of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). Our co-ed team welcomes and supports diversity in ability, gender, ethnicity, orientation, and skill level. We promote health and fitness in our youth and their families by riding responsibly and safely, getting kids and families outside, and promoting trail stewardship and environmental awareness.

Come ride trails, find adventure, and make friends! Races are optional but are loads of fun and participation is highly recommended. All students in middle school (grades 6–8) or high school (grade 9–12) who are aged 10–19 and in good academic standing are encouraged to join.

Join us for our first information session of the season on October 29, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the San Felasco State Park Mountain Bike Trailhead (13201 San Felasco Parkway, Alachua, FL 32615).

Bring your bike and riding gear (helmet, gloves, etc.) so we can hit the trails for games and a group ride!

Please visit us at gainesvillemtb.org for more information, or at gainesvillemtb.org/join/ to join today!
