GAINESVILLE, Fla. – James Brandon Doyle, 40, was arrested yesterday morning and charged with burglary and battery after his vehicle was involved in a crash, then he allegedly walked over to the other vehicle and punched the driver multiple times.

At 11:05 a.m. yesterday, Doyle’s vehicle was involved in a crash with the victim’s truck at 200 W. University Avenue. The victim told a Gainesville Police Department Officer that Doyle came over to his truck and punched him multiple times through the open window. Witnesses who saw the crash and the aftermath corroborated the victim’s account.

Post Miranda, Doyle reportedly said that he reached into the victim’s truck and tried to grab the steering wheel. He denied hitting the victim, but the officer reported that he saw bruising along Doyle’s knuckles on his right hand.

Doyle has been charged with burglary of an occupied vehicle and simple battery and is being held on $30,000 bail.

  • One hot head idiot, as he could be in a morgue today if the victim had a gun.
Road rage is stupid. But so is a neck tattoo!

  • I’ll reserve comment until I know who’s fault the accident was. As a parent if someone was driving reckless with my kids in the car and hit us my adrenaline may cause me to loose it temporarily.

    Agreed on the neck tattoos.

  • That’s where 2nd Street is blocked off with cement pylons – cuz Covid. Hmm.
