Man injured in Newberry Road shooting today

On April 20, deputies responded to 7401 W Newberry Road (BP Gas Station) regarding a shooting. Responding units located an individual with an apparent gun shot wound, and he was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. His status at this point is unknown. A person of interest has been detained, and there is no threat to the public. Detectives and crime scene investigators are working to establish a timeline of events. We are not releasing the names of those involved as this is still an ongoing criminal investigation.
