March 28 morning update: 67 cases in Alachua County

According to the stateĀ dashboard, Alachua County now has 67 COVID-19-positive cases, up from 57 at this time yesterday. No deaths have been reported. 7 people have been hospitalized. The average age of those with positive tests is 40.
The state has 3763 cases (an increase of 565 from yesterday evening; remember that testing volume has increased significantly) and 54 deaths (up 8 from yesterday evening). The 8 new deaths are in Broward, Dade, Lee, Pasco, Pinellas, and Volusia counties.
21 COVID-19 tests are pending in Alachua County. 1145 people have been tested so far in Alachua County, and 1078 tests have come back negative, so 94.1% of the tests so far have been negative (1.8% are pending). Only 5.9% of the local tests have come back positive so far.
According to theĀ daily reportĀ (note that the data in that report and the dashboard donāt always match up because they are published at different times), there are 52 cases in Gainesville, 4 in Alachua, 3 in Newberry, 2 in Tioga, 2 in Micanopy, and 1 in High Springs. Location data is not available for all cases.
