Martin Luther King Weekend events in High Springs include Gospel Jubilee and Commemorative March

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – The City of High Springs, in collaboration with the Douglas Historical School Society, Inc., is proud to present Martin Luther King Week — a series of events honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Residents and visitors are warmly invited to join in the celebrations and commemorative activities.
The week kicks off on Friday, January 16th, with a Gospel Jubilee at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, located at 24964 W. U.S. Hwy. 27, High Springs, FL. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and promises an inspiring evening of music and community fellowship.
On Monday, January 19th, the community will gather for a commemorative march. Participants will assemble at High Springs City Hall at 2:00 p.m., with the march commencing at 2:30 p.m. The procession will proceed to Catherine L. Taylor Park and conclude with a special program at the Douglas Community Center. Everyone is encouraged to attend and honor Dr. King’s enduring vision of unity and equality.
