Matheson Museum celebrates Sarah Matheson’s birthday with free concert

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Join us as we celebrate Sarah Hamilton Matheson’s birthday! We are excited to host Jason & Sarah Hedges for a free afternoon of music from the front porch of the Matheson home in celebration of the birthday of our original patron, Sarah Matheson. Sarah was the last resident of the historic Matheson House, which was bequeathed to the Museum on her death in 1996.

WHEN: Saturday, September 9, 2-4 p.m.

WHERE: Sweetwater Park in front of the Historic Matheson House, 513 E. University Avenue

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, and their appreciation for music for a relaxing afternoon in Sweetwater Park. Ginny’s All American Food Truck will be on-site serving their sandwich menu. And, of course, there will be a birthday cake!

Jason & Sarah Hedges are a captivating husband and wife musical duo from Gainesville, FL, specializing in Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, The Beatles, Jim Croce, The Byrds, George Jones, and more. With infectious spirit and heartfelt performances, they’ll make you smile. Jason is a multi-talented musician, actor, and co-founder of a major music festival in Gainesville.
