NOTICE OF RULE DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC WORKSHOP

The School Board of Alachua County, Florida, gives notice of the development of amendments to rules and that it will hold a public workshop to which all persons are invited.

Date and Time: Wednesday, May 8, 2024, 10:00 a.m.

Location: Board Room, School Board Administration Building, 620 University Avenue, Gainesville, FL

Subject Areas Proposed Rule Amendments

Policies: 2522 Challenges to Adoption or Use of Instructional, Library, or Reading List Materials

Purpose and Effect: The purpose is to discuss and consider amendments to the policy on challenges to adoption or use of instructional, library, classroom or reading list materials. The proposed amendments address objections made by parents or citizens of the county to books made available in a library, classroom or on a reading list are.

The effect is that these policies will be current, consistent, and easier to find, understand and use.
