Melrose Center opens Partner Art Gallery

MELROSE, Fla. – The Melrose Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit, dedicated to fostering community in the greater Melrose area. It is a community cafe open 5 days a week, Tuesday through Friday, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. -2 p.m.. They have live local music performances 2-3 times a week on Thursdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and the first and third Friday of every month in the evenings.
The Melrose Center is a community staple and has brought so many people together. The partner building is Studios of Melrose, which is a new art gallery featuring vintage, local, and fair trade art and works. There are a variety of events happening all the time at the center and gallery, posted on the website and social media. The gallery sells Haitian paintings, pottery by Mata Ortiz, wood block prints, art supplies, greeting cards, bin prints, and more! Eleanor Blair currently has pieces being displayed, as well as Annie Hughes, Susan Nash, Bill Paine, and Pam Hobbs.
The first Friday of every month from 6-8 p.m., they participate in the Melrose Art Walk with a few other galleries, with a dinner special and live music at the center! They also have health fairs in the mornings on First Fridays from 9:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m., providing FREE healthcare evaluations for diabetes, cholesterol, and more. The third Friday of the month is also host to an evening meal and music performances.
All sales from the Melrose Center and Art Gallery fund the community initiatives and help keep the doors open!
